Noemi's Toscana Rebirth: Version 0.27 Released - New Scenes and CG Engine Overhaul
Version 0.27 of Noemi’s Toscana Rebirth is out now, and developer beWilder is delivering on two fronts: new story content and a significant technical overhaul that sets the game up for continued growth.
On the content side, Philly’s arc receives a batch of new material, bringing her total to six scenes. Kelsey also makes a meaningful jump this update — her arc doubles in size from one to two scenes, and a brand-new gameplay activity has been added to Noemi’s downtime schedule specifically tied to the Philly content. As beWilder puts it, “all around Philly it’s added goodness.”
The bigger story in v0.27 may be what’s happening under the hood. beWilder has implemented a new dynamic CG loading system designed to address the memory pressures that come with large, long-running games. The developer explains the motivation and trade-off directly:
“This means CGs are more dynamically loaded as the game is running, which in turn may mean some longer load times in some cases. Please understand just how important and deep reaching this change is, and so we may experience growing pains with the next few versions. Better it’s done now than later when it’s forced on us however.”
It’s a forward-thinking move. Games that have accumulated years of artwork inevitably hit a ceiling with traditional asset loading, and tackling it now rather than later is the kind of disciplined development that keeps long-running projects healthy. Some load time bumps may surface in the short term, but the foundation is sounder for it.
Noemi’s Toscana Rebirth is a 3DCG RPG-adventure following Noemi through work, relationships, and increasingly complicated situations. It blends management gameplay with romance, corruption, and a substantial cast of characters across its Tuscan setting. The game has been in active development for years, and v0.27 shows beWilder still investing seriously in both content and infrastructure.
Available for Windows, Linux, and Mac.
